I’m making a video of English dubbed anime clips for Japanese children (so that they know American children watch Pokemon too!) and I ran into this:
“Hey, you guys. What are your dreams?”
“Capturing all 151 Pokemon!!”
“Oh, same as me!”
“Huh? But you’re a grown up…That’s weird.”
“What do you mean? I can’t do that?”
“It’s not that you can’t do it…”
“Well, hey, you guys. Do you have any other dreams?”
“Hmm…well I do have one more dream…”
From what I’ve been able to glean, this trailer is for the original version of the first movie, back when they thought Pokemon was only going to last 52 episodes and so the movie was set to be a “finale” of sorts for the series. I suppose it would have still been about Mewtwo, but gosh, that grown-up girl sure looks a lot like Misty. What if? Pokemon has been running for 12 years now, and I wouldn’t know if it still has any of the same magic, seeing as I don’t watch it anymore. For me, it started before the internet, before I could spoil myself on every little thing, and so everything seemed possible. This clip kinda takes me back, to a time when I thought Ash really would become a master, and there would be a conclusion to the series, and it wasn’t supposed to go on into infinity. I’m digging the kinda Miyazaki vibe like hell, too.
Shudo Takeshi, the man who ran the series for most of the early episodes, is a crazy, eccentric guy, but he gave something to Pokemon that’s been lost ever since he left. My good memories of Pokemon, the reason I’ll always have such a huge spot in my heart for it, are from those episodes. It’s still a children’s show, and there’s not even anything remotely resembling deep thought, but it was better than it had to be, as a simple Gameboy commercial. He wrote “Mewtwo Strikes Back” and he gave a heart to Mewtwo, the first time we ever got to see a legendary up close. The series now has like 35 legendaries, and barely has enough time to showcase them all in their primary colored glory. Mewtwo was a special character, Mewtwo Strikes Back was a special movie, and I’m kinda curious about what Pokemon would have become if Shudo Takeshi had gotten his way.
Or…it could just be that I grew too old to enjoy Pokemon. It’s kinda ridiculous for me to expect to be entertained by a children’s cartoon these days heh! I was just so happy to see something that reminded me of the magic I felt as a 12 year old (Oh God, imagine if I had seen it then?!). Although, who am I kidding, my whole department knows me as the “Pokemon Kid.” Y-san even sent me a New Year’s card that invited me to participate in a Pokemon event in March! Of course I’m gonna do it! I suppose that means I have to actually keep playing Soul Silver DS instead of just staring at it like I have been the past few months.
Pokemon - my way of relating to every single person in Japan!

Why did you cheat on Jon? And why are you mad at him for what YOU did? You should be begging for forgiveness. Your anger at everyone else is immature. Be an adult and fess up. CONFRONT YOUR SINS!

lol!! i don’t get it. i haven’t said a word about anyone else, and i’m not angry at anyone else! i haven’t responded to any of the baits that have been thrown my way. frankly i’m not sure why you think i’m giving off the impression that i’m angry with jon for what *i* did! i actually totally understand and accept the anger that everyone feels because i was a no good rotten human being. i’m only angry at him because he hacked into my gmail and read my private emails and chats (which is actually illegal). But i’m sure that finding out I cheated totally justifies it!
i don’t know if you actually read this blog but i think i’ve spelled out that i think i’m a horrible person for that mistake. who am i kidding, of course you read it, because all of you are obsessed with my life! lol!!! unfortunately i’m not going to go anymore into detail about the failure of me and jon’s relationship because that’s nobody else’s business, but far be it for me to prevent you guys to keep talking about me in rinkydink south jersey. keep reading!! xoxo

I don’t read this blog. I came on here specifically to post a response.
1. Jon’s actions are justified since you lied to him repeatedly.
2. No one here is obsessed with you, that’s giving yourself too much credit. Rather, you hurt and lied to someone who has friends who would do anything for him, so don’t think you were gonna get off without anyone calling you out.
3. I will have fun here in South Jersey at a job in which I can travel to anywhere in the world on a moment’s notice. Sorry you couldn’t make it work out in America, but I think we’re all better off with how things turned out.
xoxo

“Herro” and Mark,
While I’m sure we all appreciate you pulling the “good friend” card, but here it just translates into the proverbial douche-baggery. Neither this post, nor this forum is the place for this kind of drama. Send her an e-mail or a Facebook message and keep shit behind closed doors like a civilized human being. K, thx.

I don’t really know what’s going on here, but I think Pokemon has gone down the pooper since then.

I am not surprised everyone knows you as the “pokemon kid”! What kind of event is this pokemon thing you’re going to? Like a convention? A festival? Keep safe, happy, and warm~!
